ABOUT THIS TOOV

Another toov in the Eating Out In... channel

Already in the airplane with Syrian Airlines the meal was spiced with kardamon, a perfect scent on a long journey.
The coffee also has that kardamon flavour and is drunk a lot. The coffeegrain is to put in boiling water, let it boil for about 1 min. and than serve immediately. The Bedouincoffee being more strong and the one little cup being refilled until you shake it.
The waterpipe is filled with tobacco and fruitflavour and smokes as normal cigarettes for man and women (quite differently used in Amsterdam).
The camelheads I did not taste, but when I think of my trip through Syria the food plays an important role. All the fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, flatbread, and off course the many many olives and hummus I remember very well! We went to all the best adresses with my friend who grew up in Damascus. She took us to the right places to buy gateau, olives, pistache, oils, etc.
I'll look up those special adresses and put it in this Toov later.
